It is with great pleasure to announce that Mrs. Valerie Utecht has been selected as the new principal for Manor Hill Elementary School.  Mrs. Utecht has worked in the Liberty Public Schools for the past eleven years serving as a teacher at both Ridgeview and Warren Hills Elementary Schools, and as the Instructional Coach for Lillian Schumacher Elementary School.  Most recently, Valerie has served as the Assistant Principal for Manor Hill Elementary. 

Mrs. Utecht holds a Bachelor’s degree from the University of Nebraska in Elementary Education and Special Education, and a Master’s degree from Northwest Missouri State University in Educational Leadership. Prior to joining Liberty Public Schools, Valerie has served in school districts in Nebraska, California, and Maryland.  Valerie and her husband, Scott, have lived in Liberty since moving to the area in 2001.  They have three sons who attend Warren Hills and South Valley Middle School.

At the April 10th, 2012  Board of Education meeting, it was announced that Jonalee Searcey has been named the new assistant principal at Manor Hill Elementary.  While Searcey is currently an assistant principal in the Excelsior Springs School District, she is no stranger to Liberty Public Schools.  She worked at LPS from 2004 – 2010 as both a teacher and instructional coach at South Valley Junior High and Manor Hill Elementary, respectively.

Searcey will join the new principal at Manor Hill Elementary, Valerie Utecht, who was named the building’s principal earlier this spring.
